Singapore has boosted its water supply through water-recycling and also increased its land area by reclaiming land, all feats accomplished by engineers. And engineering will continue to be important for Singapore's future, as the country works towards becoming a smart nation and overcoming its lack of resources

SHORT INTRODUCTION

Dr. Lim, Jun Long has been serving in the public sector since 2010. He is a third generation Singaporean whom served National Service in the RSAF, and holds a Honours degree B.Eng (2010) and Ph.D (2018) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and a diploma from Singapore Polytechnics (SP).

Jun Long LIM (LIM Jun Long; LIM J. L.; J. L. LIM) is an engineer for a statutory board of the Singapore Government. He has held various appointments and roles throughout his employment with the statutory board.

He graduated with B.Eng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from NTU in 2010, and Ph.D in EEE from NTU in 2018. He is also a diploma graduate from SP with a Diploma in Electronic, Computer & Communication Engineering (DECC) in 2005.

Jun Long has published over 20 book article, journal and conference publications (citation >350, h-index 9). Dr. Lim's current research focuses on photonics (fiber optics), and smart nation deployment and application. Since 2010, he has been an advisor (>10 final year year students) at Singapore's university, and a mentor/ supervisor (>15 students) for the Science Mentorship Programmes (SMP).

He is bilingual in both English and Chinese as he grew up and educated in a bilingual environment from young.
